The Ulitmate Smoothie

April 15th, 2008 by Jake

I have long been a fan of smoothies. I have tried many combinations and I believe I have come to the perfect combo.
What You Need
-Frozen fruit
-Some sort of liquid (Fruit punch, orange juice, any fruit juice)
-Sugar

Optional
-Liquor (Vodka, Bacardi, any of the UV brands)

I love and wholeheartedly reccomend the magic bullet as a blender, but this also works in any blender.

1. Pour 2 cups fruit into blender
2. Pour 5 shots worth of liquid into blender
3 Pour 2 tablespoons of sugar in blender
4. Blend into desired consistency

Where to Spring Break?

April 15th, 2008 by Jake

Spring break is approaching rapidly and the question is where to go for your spring break. You have the standard destinations like Florida, California, Hawaii, or Mexico. Those all seem to be a bit out of budget this year so I decided on Chicago. By sacrificing the warmer climate for break you gain a wealth of history and great things to do. The windy city has a very rich history and deep culture. I am hoping this trip will be a great trip that doesn’t break the bank. If any of you have any things to recommend to see please drop me an email, Jake@sinbinhockey.com

The Art of BS (Bullshit)

April 15th, 2008 by Jake

I got convinced to participate in a event sponsored by Business Professionals of America through school. At this event you get different categories to participate in ranging from many different things in the business world. I choose to participate in the Entrepreneurship event, this gave me an excellent opportunity to practice my BS skills. Some people the art of BS comes natural to them and some it takes some work. To give a good BS presentation you need a few different things.

Know your topic well enough to be able to ramble on about it
Try to put together a structure in your head and follow it
Use stories and any relevant references, it gives your presentation credibility

The main thing to the success of a BS presentation is to BE CONFIDENT. If you seem unconfident they will know your unprepared.

A Book For All Entreprenuers

April 15th, 2008 by Jake

I would like to reccomend a book to all entrepreneurs out there. The book is by Tim Ferris a remarkable entrepreneur, The 4 Hour Work Week. The book takes a look at work for income and work for works sake. He teaches you how to set your monthly target income to live your dream lifestyle and only work up to pay for that lifestyle. After that is only working for the sake of working and your taking away from time with family or time doing things that enrich your life. He walks you through starting your own “muse” or small business. Check out the amazon link.A

A New Way To Internet

April 15th, 2008 by Jake

The new laptop innovation is here and its called the Macbook Air by Apple. I knew as soon as this laptop was released I would have to have it. I traded up from a standard Macbook. This laptop measure in with a 13? screen and a featherlight 3 pounds. This laptop makes the perfect laptop for any business person or student. Being a student this thing is amazing. My backpack feels much lighter even from just carrying the Macbook which wasn’t huge itself. I would recommend this to anyone that is willing to drop the pricey tag of $1799.

A New Hobby

April 15th, 2008 by Jake

I have long been curious about the hobby of collecting cigars. I decided to take the plunge and educate myself. I started my quest for knowledge by going down to the local smoke shop and asking a few questions and the manager helped me pick out my first cigar. His suggestions were a mild flavored cigar and a more premium cigar that would have a smoother taste for a first time smoker. I was hooked the flavor and the smoothness of smoking a guitar had me quite interested. I then continued into my newfound hobby by doing a bit of internet research at cigars.about.com. They had a wealth of information for new cigar enthusiests. They pointed me to a store that seemed like a respectable place, The Famous Smoke Shop http://www.famous-smoke.com/ .  I picked out my starting supplies, a humidor, a cutter, a lighter, and a cigar carrying case. Ill update you a with my progress of setting it up.
